Hello my loves! I gotta say I am a little bummed writing this post, because that means my vacation is over and it is back to reality for this girl! I had the absolute BEST time in Mexico for a girls getaway with my two favorite ladies! In this post, I not only wanted to give y’all a Plus Size Resort Wear Look Book but I also wanted to recap my trip! I am going to tell you all about my 5 days in complete paradise! TAKE ME BACK!!
Before my trip, I decided to do a little pinteresting for some outfit inspo for plus size resort wear. Well honestly, I came up pretty empty so I decided to just come up with my own. I went to Mexico for 5 days, 4 nights at an all inclusive, adults only resort. Now, I have been to Mexico a few times on cruises, but this was my first resort experience and since we were going for straight up relaxation we had no plans to leave the resort. Being the person that I am, I wanted to some great lewks for the trip!! I ended up with a full suitcase, as usual, and some great swim and resort looks that I cannot wait to share with you!
The Resort
We stayed at the Live Aqua Beach Resort in Cancun Mexico, and I booked our entire trip through Expedia, from flights and rooms all the way down to transport to and from the airport to the resort. I can honestly say that the entire trip was wonderful.
We were greeted when we arrived with cooling towels and hand massages to freshen up from our traveling and the entire resort smells like you stepped into a spa. As we went through the check in process they brought us peach tea to sip on and told us all about the resort and the all inclusive package offerings. Then they upgraded us to a terrace room! Sweet, right? Above is the gorgeous view from our room!
I cannot explain how much I loved this resort, I had read a lot of reviews before booking our trip, so I knew Live Aqua was nice but it far surpassed my expectations. There were 7 or 8 restaurants on the grounds that were included in the all inclusive package and a few that you could go to and pay additionally for. We never went to any of the paid ones because the ones included were AMAZING! You could also get 24 hour room service, which after all day in the sun we utilized quite a few times.
I am no food blogger but I did want to include a few pictures from lunch one day at the Azure restaurant. Each restaurant has different types of cuisine and this one serves Mexican food which was YUMMY!
The only thing we were a little disappointed in were the desserts. To be honest, they weren’t great but there was a crepe stand that you could visit in the afternoon that made up for that!
The grounds of the resort were lush, tropical and full of birds and iguanas! This little guys was just chilling on top of the swim up bar one afternoon.
The Looks
Now, I am a notorious over packer, I am working on it but haven’t quite got it under control yet. I had been shopping for this trip for WEEKS! Even though the trip was only 5 days and 4 nights, your girl had LOOKS! My main concern was staying cool and comfy while looking resort chic and I think I did pretty well!
For my looks, I mixed and matched pieces that I had bought in sets from Shein with other items and also fell in love with hats! I have never been much of a hat wearer because I have a big head and a lot of hair, but I decided to embrace the hats for this trip. I think they really finished off the resort vibes!

The Swim
Next up, swim. We literally spent all day, every day in the water or laying by it. This was our only goal for this vacation. Straight up relaxation. We rented cabanas during the day and spilt time between the pool and the ocean. That means my main clothing was swimsuits. I packed 9 suits y’all, 9. I just couldn’t decide which ones to leave behind so I brought them all.
The neon green bikini is one the see through side, so I wore it with a brassy bra to keep the girls in check and not expose myself and it ended up being my fav suit of the whole trip!

The Deets
So, I asked on my socials for you all to submit any questions that you had about my trip and I am going to answer them here.
Do you tip and how much?
YES! We tipped at every dinner, service and anything else that staff did for us like bringing up our luggage and such. Gabriel was our cabana server and we tipped him at least $20 in the morning and again when we left for the day. Just so we weren’t dealing with tips while in the pool and such. He was Awesome!
Did you feel safe?
1000%. There was not one time during our trip that we felt unsafe. I have felt more unsafe in US cities than in Cancun.
How much was it?
We had one room (two queen beds) for 5 days and 4 nights, plus 3 all inclusive plans and 3 round trip flights and our total was just over $3000. So, $1000 a piece. The only other expenses were our daily cabana rentals ($65 a day, includes 20 minute foot massage) and some stuff we bought from the gift shop in the resort.
Do you have to convert your money?
No, everyone will accept American dollars but everything will be listed in pesos. Don’t get freaked out when someone tells you that the price for something is 600 pesos, that is only a little over $31 American dollars.
How was the all inclusive, adults only aspect?
AMAZING. It was so relaxing and chill to have only adults around. No yelling, running or splashing in the pool and everyone was super respectful of one another. I will be doing all inclusive resorts from now on, not dealing with paying for anything was bomb! The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The Vlog
I decided to do a little vlogging while on our trip, so check out the footage of our girls getaway below!
I am always working on new content for you guys and love doing travel pieces, my last on was all about Plus Size At Disney and you can read all about that trip here.
Thanks so much for reading and watching and for the constant support! It means the world to me!
XOXO,
