Hello my loves!! I know it has been a minute since my last post. Don’t worry I have great stuff lined up, but before I get into this gorgeous Plus Size Challis Maxi Dress from Torrid I want to tell you about something.
It is Monday today and lately I have been doing what I call “Motivation Monday’s” over on my instagram. Motivation Monday’s are where I ask everyone to participate in a question or give advice on a certain subject. I get a lot of questions about life in my email and DMs. As much as I like to think I have it together, there are days that I struggle as well. I use these questions to open up a dialogue among my audience. Maybe you are struggling with the same things and someone’s suggestion could really help you, or your suggestion could really help someone else! Today’s talk is all about confidence, what do you do on the days you are feeling low in the confidence department? Do you listen to uplifting music, get a workout in, or use positive affirmations? Those are just a few of the suggestions and ideas that are being discussed over there. If you want to join in the convo head over to my instagram and share or just read through the comments if you need some awesome ideas! Now on to the fashion!
The Look
I bought this dress on my last trip to Atlanta. I have been waiting for a beautiful sunny day to wear it and shoot it for you guys. Maxi dresses are my favorite, I think the are so comfortable and you can dress them up or down for any occasion. This one from Torrid is just that! It’s Lightweight, comfortable, accentuates my frame and is just plain cute! Since it is still pretty chilly here in Alabama, I showed it paired with a cropped leather jacket and without to give you options. Also, I decided to wear lace up sandals but this look is also super cute with ankle boots if you are not ready to expose those toes quite yet. This dress buttons all the way down the front, has crochet lace details on the shoulders and slits on the sides to make it super easy to walk in.
The Fit
I am normally a solid size 2 in Torrid clothes. They didn’t have a 2 in the store so I tried this in a 1 and loved the fit. I love that it hugs my waist then falls nicely around my curves. There are some issues with the buttons staying closed at the very top but that is just because I do have a larger chest, it isn’t something that is a huge deal for me though. I am wearing a regular because I wanted to wear it with heels BUT this dress is offered in regular and short inseam! I am so glad that Torrid is offering different lengths in dresses now.
