Hi lovelies! As most of you know every time I am in Atlanta I go to Fashion to Figure, it never fails that I fall in love with so many of there dresses like last one I talked about on here the Geo Pattern Mesh Flare. Well keeping is that style, today I am bring you the super fun Plus Size Grid Fit and Flare. Being that I am plus size, I was always told that I should avoid color and patterns because they aren’t “slimming.” That is a word that I am working on removing from my vocabulary all together. If I like something and feel good in it that I am going to wear it.
The Look
This dress features a stretchy scuba fabric, skinny straps, a mesh grid overlay fabric, and a full zipper at the back. I normally avoid scuba fabrics because I don’t usually like the fit of them but this dress changed my mind. I LOVE the overlay skirt! It is so different from anything I have in my closet. The color is so rich and creamy and I loved the contrast with my hair. I paired this dress with simple strappy black heels and a black clutch.
The Fit
I am wearing a 1 which is my usual size for FTF and it fits my body well. I am very short waisted, so there was some bunching in the middle areas but that would be an issue if you are taller than me, I am only 5’3. The dress does stretch so I just pull it on over my head and there’s no need to have someone there to help you zip it up. The skirt under the overlay is on the shorter side on me, #bigbootyprobs, but it was obscene in any way. I was able to move around in it easily with no Britney moments.
I shot this look with super talented Marcus of V.irT.uous Productions. Connect with him here.
